I joined Twitter early. Early enough that I scored @duncan as my handle. So early, the original somewhat-icky yet juicy Twittr logo was missing its 'e'. Twitter took a while to find its groove, but by 2008 it had become a really special place where I made some of the best connections of my life. I didn't think there would be anything else like it again.

Yet, after its own very slow start as an attempt to replace Twitter, Bluesky is starting to feel magical. The recent massive exodus of Twitter users settling into Bluesky has gelled into a community that feels like it captures the same sort of magic as the old days. Maybe it's a flash in the pan, but I'm here for it right now.
